One of the most common support questions that we get is “Does Slife work with application X?”. These days, the most popular applications that folks would like Slife to be compatible with are the Adobe apps (Photoshop, InDesign, etc), the Apple apps (Final Cut Pro, Keynote, Pages, etc) and also probably Textmate.

We are planning to release a new version of Slife sometime around April, and one of its key features will be support for new applications. But if you can’t wait, you should check the Extras section of the Slife Labs site. Lots of users have taken advantage of the Slife plugin architecture and made Slife compatible with several programs including Microsoft Entourage, BBEdit, MarsEdit and yes, Textmate!

All you have to do is download the Plugin or Scriplet, install it (it’s easy – the Extras page contains all the info) and you are ready to go! Once it’s installed, if you want to modify the settings of the Scriplet or Plugin, go to “Preferences>Sources”, where you can change the color of the activity items observed and much more.
