We are starting a new blogging initiative here at Slife Labs. At the beginning of every week, we will post a short note describing what we are planning to work on in the week ahead. We will call these posts “Worklists”.

When things get busy, we’ve noticed that we don’t blog as much as we would like. With worklists, we will bring a little more transparency to what we are doing. That way, even when we are a bit quiet, you know we are here working hard! Worklists will be mostly about Slife features and fixes with a little bit of marketing, research and everything else that goes on in the world of a small software company thrown in. We will see how it goes. Also, these lists might not be complete and exact. We might work on a couple of things and change plans along the way.

The idea for worklists comes from the blog of Balsamiq, who does such a good job communicating what they’ve been up to. We became a big fan of their approach and decided to follow their lead.

So, without further ado, here’s our work list for the upcoming week:

  • Adobe CS4 Logging Bug: We’ve received email from some of you about how Slife is not doing a good job logging time and activities in Adobe Photoshop CS4 and also Illustrator CS4. We will be taking a look at this issue this week.
  • Slife Web UI: Working on improving the UI in some areas. It would be nice to be able to set filters in the Web & Docs view for example. We will begin to scope out this work.
  • Advertising: We are putting the finishing touches on a small ad campaign that will be out this week as well. We will have more details on this very soon.
  • Communications: We plan to reach out to academics who’ve been interested in using Slife in the past. Many of them are not familiar with Slife 3.0 and the open source client plan yet. We would love to have them on board and exploring research ideas and concepts with Slife.
